sei que o amor se transforma (2026) is a sculptural work that explores the relationship between masculinity, vulnerability, affection, and emotional transformation through the symbolic reconfiguration of everyday forms and materials. The work emerged from personal memories associated with shame, domestic labour, gender expectations, and the exposure of the body, particularly through the figure of the clothesline and objects encountered during childhood. Constructed in iron and steel, the sculpture combines a rigid, cold and potentially aggressive material language with delicate forms, including four heart-shaped elements, creating a tension between strength and tenderness. The making process, involving cutting, grinding, reshaping, and removing rust from the metal, became both a technical and symbolic ritual through which inherited ideas of masculinity could be questioned and transformed. Drawing on notions of ritual, alchemical transformation, transgression, and eroticism, the work understands sculpture as a process of material and psychological reconfiguration, where the transformation of matter becomes a means of transforming emotional experience.
